Just to better understand about Domain let’s take an example of me.

As you know my name is Pankaj Singh.

So if somebody has to call me or find me then how he will find me or call me?

Of course, by calling with my name i.e. Pankaj Singh would be very easy to call me or find me rather calling me a man with 206 bones. Right!

So in the same manner for doing online business you need a Domain name through which people/customer/internet users/your followers can find You online easily.

As you can see I have my own domain name i.e. whateveriknow.com.

WhateverIKnow.com is my business address or you can say this is my blog/website address.

Just by typing whateveriknow.com in the browser you can find me as well as my online business easily. Right!

So, I here would say Go get your Domain name first from any reputed Domain Name Service Provider company.

By the way I would recommend you to go to Namecheap for your Domain name.

This is the company from where I am using/purchasing all of my domains. Their services as well support system is very good.

No doubt there are other Domain name service provider company such as Bluehost, Hostgator, Godaddy etc. All are very good companies.

But as I use Namecheap for my Domain name and Hosting my blog. So I recommend using Namecheap. Ok!

Here are my some golden tips that you must consider while getting your Domain name.

1.Get A Branded Domain Name.

Branded domain means get a domain name which represents you, your business, your brand, your product, your service etc.

Because it’s going to represent you and your online business in long term. If possible get a branded domain name.

You can see an example of my domain i.e. AFunnelExpert.com. Isn’t branded?

2. Get Domain Having 2 Or 3 Words.

While getting your domain name you have to keep in mind that your Domain Name must be with 2 or 3 words. If possible keep it with short name.

Why? Because it is very easy to remember and type your domain name in the browser or search engine.

3. Get Domain Name With .Com, .Org, .Net Extension Or Your Country Name Extension.

First, I would say if possible get a Domain Name with a extension of .Com or .Org.

Because it gives a more sense of reliability and Authority.

Very often, people are more used to seeing or watching Domain name having .Com or .Org

Second I would say you can also take a Domain name having extension such as .us, .au, .in etc.

Here .us represents USA, .au represents Australia, and .in represents India.

So this type of extension says which country you and your online business belongs to. Got it!

Then I was provided an option to purchase Logitech C270 HD Webcam (Black) which cost was Rs.1495/- Indian Rupee.  Whereas in dollar its cost would be around $23.30. You can see the picture below.

Then as I clicked on the button which says Add to cart just to add this item i.e. Logitech C270 HD Webcam (Black) to my cart, I was take to next page.

And on this next page which says Added to Cart and Cart Subtotal is Rs. 1495 or $23.30.

I was also provided an option to purchase another items by saying something like “Customers who shopped for Logitech C270 HD Webcam (Black) also shopped for : “

Even I was also provided some recommendations too by saying something like “Recommended for you based on Logitech C270 Webcam (Black)”.  You can see the screenshots below.

 

Then finally I purchased Logitech C270 Webcam (Black) and Stereo Headset which costs me in total Rs. 2088/- or $32.56.

Did you notice that the cost to advertise through Google Adwords was around about Rs. 500/- and cost of manufacturing Logitech C270 Webcam (Black) plus Stereo Headset would be around Rs. 800/-.

So in total it comes Rs. 1300/- or $20.28 (Advertising cost Rs. 500 or $7.80 and cost of Manufacturing Logitech C270 Webcam Black + Stereo Headset Rs. 800 or $12.48) – Rs.2088/- or $32.56 (Logitech C270 Webcam Black Rs. 1495 or $23.30 + Stereo Headset Rs. 593 or $9.25)= Rs. 788 or $12.28 is Pure Profit.

Pretty cool, don’t you think?

But, what does that have to do with you?

Well, if you’re like most people who sell stuff online, you’ve setup a website, and you started selling your product.

But just like Amazon, even if people are buying it, often times, after your advertising costs, you’re probably not left with enough to even cover your hosting bills. 🙁

And that’s when you realize that if you want to make it online, you can’t sell from a flat website.
