Who is Eli Easton?
He is a six figure Email Copywriter from Ontario Canada.
He writes mostly for the bodybuilding niche since bodybuilding is one of his passions.

Ok, without any further delay, let’s move to our Interview with Eli Easton…..
Q. How did you start your journey in Online Business?
A. I started my online business journey at 18. Like a lot of people, I chased shiny objects, trying to make a quick buck. Dropshipping, shopify, affiliate marketing.
Even tried some MLM.
Eventually, I found out that “the real money was in mastering one skill.” Which was about the same time I found out about Copywriting.
A mentor I trusted was offering a 3 day intensive bootcamp on copywriting. Let’s just say it cost more than double my entire life savings at that point.
I bit down, borrowed a load of money. And never looked back. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Not long after, I discovered email marketing (a form of copywriting) and fell in love. Which led me to where I am today….
Q. What drives you the most to do better in online business?
A. Freedom. I really value freedom. Not just for me, but for my friends and family.
I also couldn’t live with myself if I wasn’t doing the best job possible for my clients….
Which is why I’m always investing my time and money into becoming a better email copywriter. In order to deliver better results.
Which in turn means I get better compensated. So it’s a win/win.
Q. What is Email Marketing?
A. Email Marketing done correctly is the #1 best way to make money online. Let no one tell you different.
Not to say there aren’t other important, very valuable things that contribute to success online.
Things like advertising, social media, good product, etc., are other invaluable parts of success.
But when email marketing is done correctly it can account for 75% of a businesses total revenue.
Due to the fact that Email Marketing is free advertising to a hungry, audience forever.
Q. What are the main points to look after before writing effective Email Copy?
A. The same thing you would look at when writing any effective copy….
1. Know your audience.
2. Know what you’re selling.
3. (specific to email copy) When writing an email you should also keep in mind that you are selling the click. Not the sale. (That way you let the sales letter/product page you already have on the other side do its job.)
Keeping this in mind, this is how you can go about writing effective email sales copy in 3 easy steps.
1. First liner
Grab your reader’s attention by entering the conversation that’s already going on in their head (this is why you need to know your audience).
If you were writing for an audience that was into bodybuilding, one conversation they’re likely having in their head would be – “I put in so much time and effort into my workouts, why am I not seeing results”
So in the first line of the email you might say something like – “You put in tones of time and effort at the gym. So why aren’t you getting the results you want?…”
2. Body copy
Show them why they’re not getting results in the gym, give them value, solve their problem for them.
Then tie in how the product you want to sell expands on this and goes more in depth.
3. Sell the click
Talk about the best parts of your product, but don’t go into too much detail about it.
Show them how their life will change after going through the program.
But always tell them that if they “want to find out more, click here”
What you want to be doing is creating enough curiosity for them to want to “learn more”
That way, they click over to your sales page/description page so that it can do the job it was made to do – convert traffic into buyers.
Q. What the Subjects Lines to use to get high open rates in Email Marketing?
A. The subject line is very important. Think about it as the headline of you email copy.
This is another thing where knowing your ideal customer or client can be very helpful.
Here’s a few tips for subject lines that get people to open….
- Peak Curiosity – “Is endless cardio really the only way to lose fat?”
- Negative – “I’m so sorry… I messed up…”
- Create Open Loops – “The #1 “health food” killing your gains…”
- Ask A Question – “Can I get your opinion?”
- Shock Them – “Human man gives birth to 13,000 kids in under 12 years”
- Include Their Name – “Joe, can we talk for a sec?”
Remember though… however crazy your subject line is. It must always relate to the message in your email.
If you say something crazy just to get them to open, and they find out you tricked them. They’ll think twice before opening your next email.
Q. What you mainly do to grow your online business?
A. Well obviously I preach email marketing. But second to that I would say is lead generation/customer acquisition.
Consistently bringing people into your funnel and constantly growing your email list is essential.
A. The best tip I can give you to grow your online business through email marketing is by emailing your list often. Every day if possible.
Doing this quickly builds trust, and a relationship with your subscribers. And keeps them receptive to your promotions.
As long as you’re always giving value in your emails and keeping it interesting and entertaining, your subscribers will love hearing from you.
Q. What tools or software you’re using to grow your Online Business?
A. Market Hero is the best autoresponder I know of.
Mainly because of the fact it’s well known for getting your emails into the inbox every time (rather than the promotions tab…).
Instantly boosting the open rates of your emails without editing a word of copy.
And because of how easy they’ve made it to build out rather complicated autoresponder sequences in just a few minutes.
Q. What traffic methods you use to promote your Online Business and why?
A. I’m a fan of FB ads. I’m sure advertising on other platforms are great.
But I believe power comes from mastering one platform. Then if you want, moving to the next to expand.
But like I’ve said before, the real money comes from the mastery of one thing at a time.

Q. What advice will you give who is just starting out Online Business?
A. Stick to one thing and master it. That’s where the real money will come from. Becoming a master of one thing.
I follow the principle of Kaizen when mastering a skill. Kaizen basically means – small increments every day lead to big achievements.
If you want to get good at writing email copy, or any copy for that matter, here’s what I do daily to increase my skills.
- Write an email every day
- Write sales copy for at least 30 minutes every day
- Hand write out great sales copy for at least 30 minutes every day
- Read a promotion every day (a sales letter, email, or VSL)
- Also, mentors are mandatory, they are not optional.
If you are trying to learn something, it will take you 10 times longer if you try to go it on your own.
Paying someone to show you the way will make things much, MUCH easier.
I am years ahead of most copywriters who have been in the game much longer than I have, simply because I’m always hiring mentors.
I’m always learning. I’m always getting better.
