What Is A Lead Capture Page?
In simple words, a lead capture page in internet marketing or affiliate marketing, a webpage through which we capture the data of visitor such as their name, email address etc., who land on our webpage or lead capture page or landing page.
Through lead capture page, the only sole motive is to collect the information of visitor, so that we can market them or connect with them in future.
A lead capture page contains a form having free gifts, free give away in the shape of free video, free e-book, free training, free registration for webinar, free mind map etc., to our visitor or lead or prospect which they will get in exchange of submitting their personal data.
Note: – We can also call it landing page or lead capture page. Both are the same.

While creating a lead capture page there is one important thing that comes first and that is Headline of your lead capture page.
A good lead capture page literally jumps out across anything else with their headline first.
In lead capture page, the headline must be clear to understand, concise, unambiguous, relevant and compelling enough to catch the visitors attention.
Lead capture page’s headline and advertisement must complement each other.
While creating lead capture page always think about your call to action in the headline. See below the examples of headline.

Sub-headline is the secondary place where a user looks. This sub-headline must compel a user to take a second look in your landing page or lead capture page.
Through sub-headline in your landing page catch visitor’s attention and establish a case as to why they should read more.
In lead capture page always address specific points that are most relevant. See below an example.
Note: – Your sub-headline and main headline must complement each other.
3. Correct Grammar.
This is very-very important. Always use correct grammar in your landing page or lead capture page.
Actually trust of users is at risk when they see bad spellings. When you use bad spellings in your lead capture page, you and your landing page lose credibility.

Before publishing it always double check your spellings.
4. Trust Symbols.
Use trust symbols in your lead capture page or landing page.
When you use trust symbols in your landing page, it increases faith in you as well as in your landing page.
This is a very important thing to realize if someone trusts you, surely they will give you their information. If they don’t trust you then they won’t give you their information. It is as simple as it sounds.
Here we can use some trust symbols in our landing page such as customer testimonials, product ratings, Industry accreditation, Industry awards, BBB, Social share buttons, VeriSign, McAfee, Expert reviews from independent commentators etc. See below some examples of Trust Symbols.
5. Strong Call to Action (CTA).
It worthless if you don’t have any strong call to action in your lead capture page. Always create a strong call to action in your landing page.
There must be a clear indication to your visitor, so that they may know what to do next. If possible walk the user through the process you want them to take on your lead capture page.
The call to action in landing page must push the user by saying something Download now, Get Free Access, Get Instant Access, Try our software for free, Learn More, Sign Up Now, Register Now etc. See below an example below.
Note: – Make sure that call to action doesn’t overpower the headline.
6. Button and CTA should Stand Out.
This is also a very important part in our lead capture page.
Your call to action Button needs to stand out. It doesn’t need to be a bigger read item.
It must be stand out on the page to get someone to do something.
While creating call to action button, identify the keywords someone might be searching for. Include them in your CTA.
In your call to action button, always use engaging words such as Free, Buy Now, and Download Now etc.
A CTA button must be above the fold and below the fold. By doing that we capture visitors when they scroll on the page, whether they scroll up or down.
Your call to action buttons must be always accessible no matter where your visitors are on that page.
Note: – Orange or Yellow button in lading page helps in catching the visitor’s attention.
7. Minimize the Links.
Links in your landing page must be an afterthought.
Too many links in lead capture page may direct or distract a visitor to the wrong place. So try to keep less links in a lead capture page.
8. Use Image or Custom Video in the lead capture page.
While creating lead capture page always use engaging Image or Video which is related to your ad copy or product which you are offering in front end or back end. See below an example of landing page having video.

In every landing page or lead capture page you must put images or custom video that encourages someone to get to a point of destiny that is where they want to go or want to be or want to do.
Always use the images that match the message in the landing page. Use image that push the users.

9. Keep it above the fold.
Your headline, sub-headline, images, video, call to action in your lead capture page must be above the fold and it must works on a mobile device or on a desktop device.
Through this, let your visitor to see your landing page without having to scroll down the page.
Note:- Above the fold, space on the landing page or lead capture page, where a visitor can see the contents without having scroll down to the landing page or lead capture page. See below the example.
By doing that you make your lead capture page or landing page more trustworthy as well as it also helps you when you do Google PPC or Bing PPC or Facebook PPC to get approval fast.
11. Test everything again and again.
Run A/B tests over and over again just to find out what works or what’s not.
Note:- A/B Tests in internet marketing or affiliate marketing can be anything but regarding landing page, if I say it in simple words, where one sample of landing page is compared to variety of landing pages by conducting tests in order to improve the response rate.
Important to Note: – Only test one thing on a landing page or lead capture page at a time.
Note: – There is one second rule and apply this rule before publishing your landing page.
Look at your landing page and then close your eyes for one second and open your eyes and then again look at your landing page and notice that did your landing page capture your attention?
Replace yourself in place of visitor who sees the landing page first time and then think do you understand exactly what someone saying to you in that one second?
